tielan: Christmas decorations, Sam & Daniel & Vala frienship
There was nothing like saving the world (again and again) for forming friendships. Sam had come so close to her teammates over time they had truly replaced her family for her. There was Jack, who had gone from commanding officer to something close to an older brother, Daniel was like a younger sibling by now and Teal'c the uncle you went to for guidance. Cam was turning out to be much like Jack. But Vala, Vala was a mystery.
So being alone with her when Cameron went to pick up Teal'c from his Christmas shopping and Daniel was running late for the tree decorating was a bit uncomfortable. To say the least.
There had been the usual amount of small-talk, but now uncomfortable silence that wasn't made any better by the Christmas songs playing on the radio had taken over. Sam sometimes cursed her inability to do good small-talk.
"So, that Christmas tree thing," Vala suddenly broke the silence, "just an elaborate phallus symbol or what?"
Sam nearly choked on her drink.
"What with the whole erecting it and then putting ornaments on it," Vala continued.
Years with Jack had fortunately led to a very short recovery period on Sam's side. "I think it's meant as a celebration of life coming back soon, winter being over, that sort of thing."
Vala thought about it for a moment. "But this tree will die, right? That's a strange way to celebrate life coming back."
"I guess that's one way of looking at it..." Sam trailed off.
"Besides, it's still a very phallic symbol."
"What is?" Daniel asked, standing in the living room door. There was snow falling from his jacket to the floor while he was taking it off.
"The Christmas tree," Sam explained.
Daniel chuckled. "Yes, I suppose you could interpret it like that."
"See, told you so." Vala exclaimed, smiling wide. Sam had to laugh along with them.
"Most high Christian holidays really have something to do with fertility. The best example is of course Easter, with the symbols of eggs and rabbits and which is based on the..."
"So, I see you brought Christmas decorations?" Sam tried to rescue the conversations before Daniel descended into mythology for the next hour.
Daniel stopped in the middle of his explanation and looked confused for a moment. "Oh, yes. Right, tree decorations." He picked up the bag he had carelessly put on the floor at Vala's remark. "I bought purple, red and blue, as requested," he said with a glance at Vala. It had been her who had proposed that rather odd colour combination.
Vala practically jumped up from her chair and clapped her hands. "This will be fun. We don't have to wait for the others, right?"
"I'm sure they won't mind if we put a bit on first," Sam replied. After all, this was Vala's first Christmas tree.
Daniel and Sam smiled while they watched Vala go through the ornaments. It was almost like being small again, not worrying about the world, but instead about which piece to put on top of the tree.

noveltea: What would never be, Sam/Martouf
Sam sometimes wondered how you could miss touching someone you never touched. Miss loving someone you never loved.
Some nights after he died, she woke up and there were tears on her cheeks.
She had no one to talk to about it. How could they understand what she herself couldn't? Sometimes she thought what was left of Jolinar inside of her was grieving. She chided herself for it: Jolinar was dead. Nothing but her memories remained.
Martouf had hoped she could be his next Jolinar. But she told him she couldn't be that person - not yet. Now she never would be.

rhaella: Perspectives - Ba'al/Osiris (4 drabbles)
1.
A female body had taken some time to get used to. But now that he had gotten to know all its functions, Osiris delighted in the pleasures it could give and receive. The sensations were more powerful than with a male and the possibilities to manipulate others even greater.
Ba'al was an experienced lover and willing to pleasure him fully in this form. And he was a good ally. Osiris missed Isis some days, and he would not stop until the humans had suffered for the pain they had caused him. But for now, Ba'al was a better partner than many.
2.
Sarah screamed in her head the first time she was used like that, or rather, her body was used like that. She had stopped screaming when Osiris murdered and tortured months before that, but being used for such an experience... It was violent and disgusting.
She learned to blank out the experiences after some times. The pain the other Goa'uld caused her body, and the delight her possessor took in it. She had never liked pain, but now it was a constant in her life - usually caused by her own hands. But these violations - they were hurting her.
3.
Ba'al liked causing pain. Being with Osiris was a very effective way to fulfil his desires. Osiris enjoyed the pain and was an experienced lover even when it came to male bodies. And Ba'al also knew that he was causing the female that Osiris had taken host physical and emotional pain.
Osiris was also a valuable ally and these intimate encounters strengthened that bond - or at least he hoped so. Osiris as skilled a liar as he was a lover. Ba'al knew he had to be careful around him. But he would miss the physical experience should Osiris deceive him.
4.
He had forgotten his name. His and the name of the world he was born on. It seemed like eons since he had been free and maybe that impression was correct.
His captor had taken a liking to another human female who was held captive in her own body just like he was. He wished he could talk to her, but he had learned fast that this was impossible.
He knew that once this act had been a wonderful experience for him. But now, knowing what it must do to her, it made him want to die every time that they met.

zeldaophelia: Memories, Sha're
Sha're had many memories of her husband. Of how she first met him and of their wedding, but most of them were just of everyday life together. Of his absent-minded look when he studied a part of her culture, of his helpless behaviour when it came to tasks he was unfamiliar with and of his loving glance when he looked at her.
She also had many memories of the other important parts of her life: of her father protecting her, of her brother lovingly teasing her and of her friends laughing with her.
These memories were a comfort to her in that long and dark night, as she called it. Memories were what she treasured because there might never be a future.
But she never gave up her hope. Both, the past and the future, were bright to her when the present was only dark.

amilyn: Grieving, Sam&Teal'c
She felt his presence when before, she would have never noticed him entering the room behind her back. A lot had changed in Sam's life and sensing Teal'c was just a reminder of that. But she did not turn towards him, the tears she had just cried still on her face. She did not want to appear weak.
"May I enter?" he asked in his dark and soft voice and while Sam longed to talk to someone, she did not answer. But after a moment's hesitation, Teal'c entered anyway, closed the door behind him and sat down next to her.
"Daniel Jackson is looking for you," Teal'c told her.
Sam nodded. Someone was always looking for her, the phone kept ringing and people asked questions. Especially Daniel was spending a lot more time than usual around her these days, but she didn't talk to him about what he wanted to know - she wasn't ready yet.
"I have told him you are unavailable right now."
"Thank you," Sam answered. She hated how her voice sounded, making it obvious that she had been crying just minutes before.
"Is it not customary on this planet to take time away from work and duties to grieve for the dead ones?" Teal'c asked.
Sam hesitated for a few moments before replying. She knew where Teal'c was going with this and she didn't know whether she liked it. "It is. But I am not grieving."
"I think you are, Samantha Carter."
A tear escaped from her eye and she quickly got rid of it with her shirt. "I...," she began, then failed at forming the words. Another tear was making its way down her cheek, this time without being stopped by her. "Sometimes it feels like a part of me died."
"Then maybe you should allow yourself to grieve for that part."
And finally, she did. She knew that Teal'c would not hold it against her or tell anyone; and in his arms, she for the first time since Jolinar died allowed herself to break down completely before she pulled herself together again.
It seemed like an eternity, but after she was capable of speaking again, she thanked Teal'c for being there.
"You are welcome."

jessm78: First Time, Jack/Sara
Seeing his son for the first time was a moment Jack would never forget. Sara had not wanted him there during labor and he had to admit he was grateful for that. But he couldn't wait to see their little boy.
Sara looked beautiful with their son on her arms, even more so than usual.
"Do you want to hold him?" she asked him and could only nod, no words could leave his lips.
He looked so small in his arms. So dependent on their protection. He swore that day to never let anyone harm his son or Sara.
"I love you."
